Questions on new project!

Hi all! I'm new here. I'm currently restoring a Vulcan 750 from the ground up. Yeah..I know it's not a Harley..but it's what I've got and the bike fits me good. I do want to make it my own though and it will be somewhat customized with paint, seat and bars. Anyway!

I was originally torn with deciding whether to give it a quick rattlecan job or do it right with urethane and spray gun. Couldn't decide what color scheme for the longest either. Was watching an episode of Biker Buildoff and saw Cole Foster's Rootbeer bike and went nuts on the color! Now I can't get it out of my head and the bike just has to be that color! I want to paint the frame, radiator shroud, battery box, side covers, tank and tins...with this. I'll be using HOK Orion Silver Metallic base with UK Candy Rootbeer over it. I want the most flash in the sunlight. I'm taking everything to metal first, then self-etching primer, 2k primer over that and then color and clearcoat.

Trick is: I'm a definite newb at spray gun painting. I'm willing to take the time and the risk to learn though and I know if I can pull this off, I'll be proud to ride it for years to come!

So Here's my situation: I really have a small shop and it's crowded and not conducive to building a paint booth. So my answer is to build a support structure of some type out in the yard(I live in the country, so no neighbor issues) and hang the frame and some of the other parts on it. I will have a good 3 hr window to paint most mornings at the right temp and will have plenty of light and ventilation. That's my best answer to this so far. The structure will resemble a kid's swingset, using sawhorse hinges, with a lot of support boards and I'll use rope or chain to suspend the parts..especially the frame. Other parts can be easily painted on a table outside.

My question is: Assuming I paint early in the morning and leave the piece outside for several hrs, will it be dry enough to take down and put in shop overnight, before continuing with the next painting phase....ie paint primer one day and then base, clearcoat the next day. The other option would be draping the structure overnight, but high humidity and bugs would be the bad part there. I don't want to damage the finish in the process.

I've also considered another structure similar to a rolling garment rack, that I could roll out into place and then roll back in. It would cost substantially more money to build though.

I know in an ideal world I'd go find a paint booth to rent and all of that, but not an option where I live, everyone around here paints in barns or outdoors. I'm really just trying to figure out the timing on this, ie when is the paint dry enough to really handle without messing it up??

Any help would be appreciated!
