There is an ad running in American Iron Magazine Feb 04 issue (Radical Stencil Designs) Offering a video instruction course. Has anyone here subscribed to that course and if so, was it worth the bucks? AL

how much $$$$

there are a million ways to make a stencils or use an object to make a design or pattern. Sometimes all you have to do is think outside the box. I spent $25 on a video that was about illustrating and something I've been doing for years. There was a texture portion and I was shocked at how simple some of the effects were to create, but something I never thought of. If the video is cheap, it maybe worth it....send a url if there is one.

I dont see a URL there is a toll free number 888 257 6470 the ad is on page 69 (should be an easy number for you to remember) of American Iron if you happen to be in the grocery store check it out. It is a 3 video set and says it covers all facets of custom painting besides just the stencel making, flames candy etc. They want 100 bucks for the 3. Im a little leary because its not by Frasier or Kosmoski etc I thought maybe somebody here had bought it. Al

Hi there,
I have bought 2 videos from BAA Direct so far. In the first one (3 tapes?) I learned 1 trick. In the 2nd one I think I learned 2 things. I sent the 1st one back, they have a money back guarantee. I am about to send the 2nd one back also.
FYI, I woulnt send them back except they claim how the videos will reveal unknown secrets blah blah blah. Viewing them was pretty much a waste of my time. Jim

hey jim, i agree with you the tapes arent what i was really expecting but i'm a newbi in the airbrush world, so they are showing me afew things im not familiar with. i wouldn't recomend them for anyone who has allready been airbrushing for any amount of time. do you know of any other instructional videos produced by anyone else that may help a guy like me to learn more. i've been doing the typical collision/paint repair for 12 years now, and i just started doing custom work about 2 years ago. Thanks! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

No I dont know of a good video. I got the first one from BAA, it was some old Cali. painter who was supposed to reveal all his painting tricks. The only thing I learned was to use a sheet metal screw in the top of the paint cans as a cork, when only using small amounts of paint. The 2nd video was called "Fire
Storm" not much in it either except I saw the razor trick for the first time. Good thing they allow you to send them back if not happy with the videos.
I am going to start a new posted question on what is a good video to buy under the general paint area. Lets hope someone has a few good videos to reccomend. Be good, Jim

I'd love to buy the Craig Frasier videos, but they are quite expencive when you add the exchange rate and dutys on top of it all, also I'm kinda waiting for this stuff to be available in dvd I think that would be muck better. I always check e bay for used videos, but have yet to find any. I did however but the Craig Frasier book "cheap tricks ans special efects" . awesome book, but nothing I havent seen in magazines before, and definately not worth the $80 canadian I had to pay to get it. But I do love haveing it.
