Hi everyone, new here and thanks to JDRICH I just discovered this website.

Anyway I'm in the process of painting a set of saddle bags that have acryllic paint on them already. They are gloss black. I'm going to be painting them a Blusih/silver mettalic from a spray can that was made up for me from the local auto paint supplier. It's a base/clear application. I'm leaving the original black on the top, just plannig on masking off what I'm not painting. My main concern is the colour coat. Do I have to use primer or do I just scuff the original black ? Also do I wetsand the colour before I clear? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks again

No you won't have to use primer unless you have a chemical reaction between the acrylic and your new paint. You should test in an unseen area. Scuff and shoot, then wait and see if anything happens. If there is a reaction, you will need to use primer, if none, shoot away.:luck:
