raw metal ?

can u apply clear over raw metal anf if u can what about the adhesive ? will it last?and has any one heard of applying just a kandy over raw metal is ther a problem with the adhesive ? thks for any advise . ps has any one figuer out the holgrapic maylor yet?

In my experience with body repair, I found that in order to make the paint job last you need to apply a metal etching primer to bare metal.metal will expand and contract, and will sweat. a etching primer is going to keep it from doing that.

Theres been posts on this before, I've heard you can but you have to spray the metal with some kind of chemical so it won't rust. I don't know how long it would stay on the metal though. I know theres a car done by APC that is green with metal flames, they took a wire wheel and ground swirls into the metal and taped off the flames then painted it green. I don't know what they did so the metal wouldn't rust. Mabey someone else knows

I did strpes down the side of a toyota truck that was about 4 inchs wide. I put grinder marks in it. i used a clear adhesion promotor and cleared them seperatly from the rest of the car at first starting with some light coats at first. I then sanded the whole truck and cleared the whole thing. Buffed it out and it looked great. That was about 5 months ago and no sign of rust or anything yet. I'll keep everyone updated if anything goes wrong with it
