That's a fiberglass shell I get from a guy in Cali.
It's based with Violet Ice Pearl, and about 8 hours of airbrushing. I made it into a clock, that's what the hole is for.

I'm still messing with em a little. Not much time with all of my other projects right now. Painting two of my bikes one for my wife and a few customers before the weather breaks.
Where can I get those shells and how much are they. Seems like they would be cheaper for practicing on and lighter than a real tank to drag around to the shows if you set up a booth.

I got them from Bob's Auto & Equipment.

They cost $24 + shipping. It was $60 with shipping to MN for two tanks.

Thanks, I'm going to have to get a couple. Got lots of ideas and not enough sheetmetal to work on. I tried convincing my wife I need to buy more bikes to practice on but she diddn't go for it. I think she's mad because I already have five taking up her cars spot in the garage.

DDG- I was checking out your site...Nice work. I especially like the leather jackets/vests that you paint. What type of paint do you use on leather and what type of prep is involved. I am new to this whole painting thing and am very curious.
Thanks

Thanks for the compliment.
I use regular Createx paint, not the Auto Air, and prep with either wiping down with alcohol or wax/grease remover.
