Rear fender, flame or not?

Just fishing for opinions. I'm about ready to do the flames on my Kawi Drifter (looks like an old Indian with heavily valanced fenders). Normally I would not flame the rear fender as I think it kills the continuity of the paint, like most hot rods where the rear fenders are not flamed. To me, it just doesn't look right. However, the Drifter has this rear fender with a huge blank spot that kind of asks for a feature. I'm just not sure what to do.

Yes yes ,I agree. There isn't enough area to flame before the rear fender to look right like the solid side of a car.
