Reducing MC260?

Hi to all. I am new to this board an paiting as well. What a GREAT PLACE!!!!!!
I have searched this board but not found this.
I shot a couple mail boxes with a Devilbiss finishline II. My question is this. I am using MC260 w/MH167 hardener. Mixing 2 to 1. I always read about people reducing the clear. I was told by PPG guy not to? Seems like it would flow better if reduced. So, can I reduce it? And if so, with what?
One more, is there truth to using a little more air pressure and letting a little more fluid through for smoother clears (no orange peel)?

TIA - Brian

That clear reducer is not needed. On most clears there is a reducer required. You can add up to 10% MR186 if you want it to lay down smoother.

You're always going to get a slight peel if you go straight from sealer to clear.A touch of reducer will help and you can bump the pressure.Have something to do pattern checks on and play with it.The best thing to do is start with the middle of the recommended pressure and start playing with adjustments,as long as the tip size is in the range needed for the material.Usually I run about mid pressure and choke down on the fluid to give a nice pattern.Attomization is the trick so you need enough fluid to get a wet pass but enough air to break it up.If you really crank out the fluid you can make it flow but then oyu're getting it on too thick and you're likely to get sags and runs at least.
