I just had a guy cometo me today and wants to repair a tank on his confederate motorcycle. The tanks is carbon fiber. What filler do you guys think would be best to use on this. Any help here.

Thanks

Good Q,I have no idea.Is it broke?I'd think a scratch could be puttied as long as it was going to be painted. If it's cracked or broke I have no idea.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">You CAN, but DON'T. Thier prices are beyond outrageous.

Give us a little more info on what he needs repaired and I can make some suggestions.

I have a confederate as well and it seems the genius that painted for them grinded to much of the weld off. I need to repaint my as well. I'm told to take it to a aluminum shop and have them tig weld it, because you can see the welds on the inside. I'm told that gas will eat any body filler out there. anybody belive this?

Welcome Hellcat. These guys are talking carbon fiber, but the advice to you was on.Bondo or plastic filler will soak up water, gas, anything.Have it welded by a good welder and if you need to grind it don't grind it flush, leave some of the weld and melt it out with bondo. You'll need to put down a coat of good epoxy primer first because bondo has minimal adhesion to aluminum. It sticks but not to the point I'd trust it with a motor that shakes the bike like a Harley design will.I'm surprised a factory painter did this,he should have known better.
