Any time man. What I do in this case is play with test panels. For the most part you'll have to candy the whole thing and cover the base color, but you can ghost with the amount of coats you use.I did my scooter in a God aweful purple pearl and taped out my flames and shot 2 coats of a homemade blue candy over it,unmasked and covered the whole thing with 2 more coats.Left a very nice color with a seriously ghosted flame job.I just redid my tank so I'll try to get pix after I buff it.Somewhere here are pix of the original job but I went a little heavier this time to make them stand out a bit more.I think the fenders will have to be redone to match but I'm not too worried about it.Another option I haven't tried yet is to candy the whole thing then add a touch of another color to the candy to change it.The easiest way is to spray your base color, mask the flames and add some black or white or silver to the original base to blow in the flames with, then candy the whole thing. What's the final outcome you're looking for in colors?Oh,the candy was made with DBC500 with a blue tintbut off hand I don't recall which one.
