Hi I am about to airbrush a bonnet (hood) fibreglass scoop, i have airbrushed on plenty of hard surfaces but nothing with the clear already on .

The paint is a candy appple red, and l know that i have to sand but what grit of paper would u recomend and and how would base coat paint thined to extremes affect the surrounding clear??, any help here would be very much appreciated.

Sand the whole panel you're brushing with say 1200 or 1500 and let it rip,if you're nervous about areas like edges just wet scotchbrite them.When it's ready clear the whole panel.Be carefull overthinning metallics and pearls because they can lighten up drastically.

Thanks very much Rex for your rely,...just a little nevous on this job as its for a paying customer, and i'm looking forward to a perfect result. The customer is going to get it cleared themselves.
