Hi Scott,

First of all, thanks so much for this forum. It is a huge resource for everyone. I tell everyone I know about the forum and also about the website -- hope it generates some business for you.

Looking at your job #160, the Brandywine Kandy ghost flames on black basecoat -- did you spray the flames in a white or silver pearl before spraying the Kandy or did you use another basecoat color?

Thanks,
John Pierce

Hey John,
I used a silver pearl base under the flames!

Glad you're enjoying the Flames Board!!

Scott:

How well would that work using a silver basecoat instead of pearl?

So the newbie understands:

With the black base coat on and the flames taped, you airbrushed the ghost flames with silver pearl and then sprayed the Brandywine Kandy over the whole flame? Or did you just airbrush over the same area as the silver pearl?

Whatever it was, the look is awesome.

I'll also throw in my thanks for the board and the how-to section. I'm getting an HVLP gun for my woodworking projects and I'm more excited about testing it out for repainting my bike. The fact that I've already got a decent quality double action airbrush makes me itch to do some ghost flames in white/silver pearl over black....

Thanks again.
