I sprayd my flames and they look good.I did them silver over the bright ford red.I tiped them with some black base that i mixed in some white pearl,To geta charcoal look.My problem is that i want to pinstripe them but have 2 coats of clear on it.Can i sand and lay down the pinstripes than bury em in?Im using actual pinstripe so ill need a lot of clear. Will I have adheision or cosmetic promlems doing this?WHEN Im done ill post some pics. You'll probably want to clear two more times.
The first time put about 5 or 6 coats. Sand the tank with 1000 grit on a dual action sander or block wet sand with 800-1000 grit to level the clear over the pinstripes with the rest of the clear on the metal. Then clear again with 3 or 4 coats and you'll be slick as snot. I just done it and it worked great. Clear will stick over pinstripes just fine and you can't tell the elevation difference once it is sanded and recleared. Wipe your stripes and metal down good with wax remover, tack it, and go thin the first coat of clear and let it dry real good. Touch the tape and if the clear is stringy it is not ready to recoat, wait till it's sticky but with no strings pulling off. Good Luck.

If your wax remover is the more aggressive slow drying variety don't let it sit on the edge of the stripe tape long,it'll soften the glue on the edge of the stripe. It shouldn't lift the edge or anything but if the glue absorbs enough of it the clear will trap in the solvent before it can evaporate. When you wet the surface wipe over the tape first just to be safe. It's not a usual occurance but I have seen it happen.
