Selling prices?

What is a fair price to charge some one for lets say a single base, single color flame lay out on a set of fenders and a tank? Should a price invole the man hours alone or include dificulty, colors, more than one color so on? I understand material cost would be in and of its own. I could only hope that the day will come where I can name any ungodly high price and some yuppy will trow it at me (Von Dutch /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bigokay.gif) But I dont see that happening any time to soon, so for now ...whats fair? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

I phoned round all the painters I could find and checked what other people were charging first then worked from there. I generally charge £80-£100 for a tank 1 colour(1 col with 1col flames £120-£140), £50 from front fender and £70 for the rear. But every job is different.

Charge a fair price and dont sell yourself short...I was worried about charging to start with then I saw some of the crap work some so called airbrush artists are pumping out, I have no problem asking for the cash now /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

£100 is about $180 but as everything is cheaper to buy in the states than in the UK its probably not a good indication of prices. As an example Devilbiss GTI guns start at about $480 in the UK /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Depends on the size of the fenders and tank.I charge around 500-650 US to strip and redo an FX/FL Softail set one color depending on amount of paint stripped, dings or nasties I don't like, and color.Grafix, candies, pearls, etc go up from there.I have little overhead right now but I am anal about what the inside of the fenders and the backside of the tanks look like. They may not be seen and aren't buffed but they look good too,no rattlecan sh!t or the backside is just a layering of overspray.
