Shadows on flames

I'm using PPG Deltron Chrysler magnesium pearl with silver flames and I would like to put shadows -----HOW???? and what color does everyone think would be a good shadow??? I looked in older posts but couldn't find any info on painting shadows. Please help /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif

Not an expert here myself with automotive painting but heres my pennys worth of advice. I would use an airbrush for the drop shadows and the colour would be a very light black, I airbrush a fair amount and like the drop shadows to be a bit away from your edge as it gives the flames a bit of a 3d feel. rather than tight to the edges. Some may agree or not but it is a personal preference of mine. ALso reduce your paint so you achieve a less dark black if that makes sense to you. Also I tend to spray more air than paint when doing any shadows and reduce my air pressure,
