Shelf life of KP-2CF primer - How long?

Anybody have any idea how long this stuff is good for? Both gallon cans have been capped off for awhile. I bet they were last opened in May-June of 2003. Everything has settled out. There's not much left....maybe a 1-2 quarts tops. I hate to waste it but I don't want to mess anything up either.
I should be able to mix it back up and filter it through a strainer to get any dried solids out, right? The solids might be dried primer on the wall or lip of the can.

I see nobody's answered you yet so I'll take a standard stab at it.The primer itself will mix back up if you shake it enough and break up the bottom solids as long as it was sealed good. That kind of time I'd go at least 10 minutes on the shaker and test it for chunks and throw another 5 on until it's good. The hardner (if that's the other gallon) is another story, moisture in the air is what kills it so that's the questionable side.1/2 a gallon or less this long would make me leary but we have the humidity to ruin just about anything in short order.Your environment is different so try to get some local advice.

Hey, I know Champaign! Born and raised there... and that's why I live in WA now! If you sealed the stuff up with a blanket of nitrogen on it it will keep quite a while, but why risk it? I wouldn't jeopardize all your work on something for $20 in old paint. Buy new stuff and leave the worries behind. Just my midwestern advice. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif Good luck

Yeah...I decided not to use it this last weekend. I've got some new primer on the way. I've spent way too much time on the bodywork to chance it. Plus, the weather was crummy enough that we couldn't set up in the garage.
Good old Champaign...Born and raised here till I was 18. Then I moved to Carbondale for school. Somehow I ended up back here cause there's more money and jobs in this area compared to Southern Illinois.
Thanks for the advice guys...
