Shipping Materials

So I finally finished the first bike that wasn't mine (attached photo) and now it's looking like I may get a few out of town gigs from this. What materials do you use when shipping to prevent your parts from scratching. I assume you get boxes to match the fender/tank sizes and then stuff them with something. I just imagine that 'something' rubbing up against the paintjob and ruining it before it gets there. Even wrapping the items in towels would seen dangerous for the finish. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Stretch, I shipped a corvette hardtop to Cal. this winter. I went to the paint store, ( for house paint) and bought a roll of painters plastic. This stuff dosen't kling to it's self so it won't stick to the paint. I wrapped the top with it then filled the box with styrofoam pellets. The guy I sent it to said it arrived in perfect condition.

Hey Nooshie-

Thanks for the info, I never would have thought of that. This board really is great, I've learned so much.
