want to but polishing products.. exctly what is everything i need? i know i need 3m pads and polishes but have no idea what ones? part #'s would be helpful along with some website that carry the stuff. thanks in advance John

This previous post may help you out. This gives a brief mention what I use, then the following post show what another painter uses.

Different paints require different products. Below is a more detailed list of what I currently use.

5718 - yellow backing plate

5737 - white waffle pad
5936 - Extra Cut

5735 - black waffle pad
Foam Pad Glaze (don't know part #)

Also, here is a site that carries compounds, pads, glazes. This should help you get started.

Scott has it on the money with the pads. You may want to use Micro finshing compound first, then finnesse it, then finally micro finshing glaze or hand glaze. Less buffer less swirl. All mentioned is 3M.
