Soft Components

Ok, My flame job on theHarley has been complete for about a week now, however, I noticed this evening that I can still make a fingernail impression on the plastic saddle bags, and saddle bag lids. All the metal work is nice and hard. I used dupont Clear Coat, and followed the directions, which are 3.1.1.

Im not certain why these two components are still a little pliable in a couple of areas. Any ideas?

If you painted them the same time, no reason why only the plastic pieces should still soft.
Possibly you prepped these differently than the steel parts.
Did you prime or do anything different prepping (or spraying) the plastic pieces?

Anway, it sounds like that your paint will dry on the plastic parts (eventually).

You shouldn't have any problem once they are dry.
