Solvent Pop

I have been shooting HOK Tangelo Pearl and using their UC-35 to clear with. I have noticed that I am getting a little bit of what appears to be pinholes or bubbles after clearing. Is this solvent pop and how do I remedy it?

It could be solvent pop, you might not have waited long enough after you layed down your basecoat before you cleared, not allowing the solvents to escape. Or Maybe contaminets in your air line like water etc. Check your tech sheet for basecoat dry times before you clear. Also If you dont have enough space from the compressor to the filters, it might not be removing all of the condensed water.

It sounds like pop. It's either cused by recoating too soon so underlying solvents get trapped and force their way out later or it can be caused by waiting too long between coats.

Spraying with too fast a reducer and hardener can do this to if you apply it too wet.
What will haappen is that the very top of the paint will flash off and begin to dry and underneath the solvents in the paint that is still wet will push through and blow out little holes that is solvent popping.

The Queen has a point there, very well possible with the 'open' description you gave.Another thing to think about is are they pinholes in bodywork that are swelling or opening up after solvent does it's number on things?A more definitive description will narrow it down.
