Spam Spiders

Is there a way to block the spam spiders from this forum scan for email addresses to later spam regisered users on the foum? I know that some of these are benign used to aid search engines but others are just there to collect email addresses and other information. Take a look under the Quick Links menu/ Who's online and see names like Yahoo! Slurp Spider, Google Spider and Google AdSense Spider

spiders are actually a good thing. They are what gives you a kind of a data base in your search engines. For example you type in pinstriping in to lets say google or yahoo. It will return all the sites that a tagged with pinstriping. Some will lead to here or some other sites.So they are a good thing.

Thanks Brian- I have read on some tech forums that they do have a positive purpose. There can be some buggers as well.
