Ok I want to learn to paint my own motorcycle, it consists of abs plasitc fairings and a metal gas tank. My tank had stickers under the clear so i sanded those out so now my tank has areas with basecoat still on it and bare metal in some areas. I have to use a lil bondo on my tank but thats not a big problem. Does the primer act as a sealer? Is it ok to just prime my tank now? What kind of primer should I use? I plan on painting the bike a red and black with possibly white lettering. Im guessing that I want to use a basecoat and a clearcoat application. Is there anything other than the primer, basecoat, clearcoat do I need other than the hardeners of each?
