Hello everyone,
I cant find any suppliers around me who knows about spray masking. I think I have read here that the best is made by Plasti-coat?? Is this correct? I need a part # to get it ordered.
I dont have much luck with Fine Line tape and 2" masking tape. I get problems with bleeding under the tape and with the 2" lifting when layers start getting applied on top.
Thanks in advance, Jim

I remember the talks about it but can't remember the particulars. The easiest thing to do is use the search feature for 'spray mask' and you should get every post and reply about it.Sorry for no info.

check out Signwarehouse.com in TX, or Florida Graphic Supplies and asked for Avery spray mask. Works great!

I've noticed too many thin strips of tape start to shift or curl up during spraying and get real messy. You can lay down wider tape and then cut out on the thin blue fine line tape.

Thanks for the help. Has anyone used the spray masking? Does it give the clean/sharp lines like the companys say it will? Thanks again, Jim

most of the time it leaves clean edges. It sort of bunches up on extreme curves. You can manipulate it fairly easy.

I bought this from this ebayer. GREAT stuff! Used it for the first time on my truck with no problems. But I really dont trust it when I start blowing the color on. Im afraid it might lift so I use 1/4in 3m green masking tape and go around all the corners. I dont think you have to but I really dont trust it. Great stuff Ill be ordering more from them!

tiller2nv,

that stuff on e-bay is called application tape and is used in the vinyl world. I apply that over my bluefine line tape designs and cut things out. Different brands have different adhesive qualities and some lay down better than others and do not peel up.

On my post above I was refering to Avery Paint mask that you usually run through a plotter and design your design on the computer, send it to cut and then apply to your surface to spray. That stuff sticks real well and lays down great. I've never had it pull up correctly sprayed paint either.
