spraying clear coar over candy color

hi all...what a great site for quality info...my question is..how long should you wait till you put the clear coat over the candy color....do you wait till it tacks up or should you wait till it dries and sand it then shoot the clear..thanks...pa

Whooow!! Patooey. You should <font color="red">NEVER EVER</font> sand a naked (uncleard) candy! Doing so will leave you with blotchy and darker spots that are impossible to get out with out sanding down to the primer and starting over. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/foreheadslap.gif
Just let it tack up a bit and continue with at least 2 wet coats of clear after your candy. The same goes with Metalics, Pearls, and flake. After the clear has cured you can then sand and add more coats of clear, or graphics, or just buff and polish.
