ive sprayed some real small flake through my airbrush and just about got away with it. but if you want to go for a larger flake your in trouble.
ive just bought a flake gun which is designed to spray nearly any size flake, you spray the flake straight on to a wet coat of clear, so theres no clogging up the small nozzle (flake is dry straight from the pot)
hope this helps you
so if i use the ultra mini flake i should be alright, although i really wanted to use a good size flake so u could really notice it, but i dont think it will fit through the filter screen in my gun, unless i can take it out, but i dont know, maybe u could tell me. thanx for the help
i just take out the screen in my gun, the only downside with an hvlp gun is that the flake tends to settle in the bottom of the cup, with a syphen style gun and a couple marbles in the pot you can mix them up by shaking
Cal1600, I assume you got a Flake Blaster?? I just bought one too Im hoping to get a chance to try some test panels in about a week, also got some ghost flake to mess with, How do you like the Flake Blaster?? Nate says once I use it Ill never go back to shaking the cup. Let us know how you like it, how thick you shoot on the clear etc: I will reciprocate if I ever get home from this job im on and get a chance to try it. Al
