stencil glue

I bought some flame stencils for small jobs like helmets. They are flexable and I've tried to use them, but without success. I sprayed with elmers addhesive and waited a few minutes for it to get tacky, but all of the stencil did not stick. I tried this like seven times always cleaning and spraying lightly. These are really cool and I'd like to use them. If anyone has any insight for these I would sure appreciate the Knowlege.

when you say stencils are you talking about free hand shields? if so they were not designed to be glued down. be careful with adhesives they can create problems. try tracing your stencils on Auto mask, which has the right amount of adhesive for this application then cutting out your own set of stencils. i personally think freehand outlining with fine line tape is faster and more creative than stencils. just my oppinion though.
