Storing Stock Parts

I'm getting ready to take my 100 year anniversary tank and fenders off my bike...I want to put them away for a long time (I'm thinking ten or so years). Any hints on prepping parts for storage would be cool. I have no scratches what so ever on this set-up.....only washed it 1 time , waxed it 1 time a year ago.....Kept under wraps so no dust or dirt gets on the bike at all...Still looks showroom new....what do you think /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif

If I remember right (I'm at home right now), you bought a set we put together for you. The fenders are brand ne H-D which means you will get the appropriate H-D boxes. These are great to use to store your anniversary fenders in. As far as the tank, you should be able to use the shipping box we supply, or you can buy a brand new one for U-Haul, or maybe your local H-D dealer can get you a new H-D tank box.

That was my plan as far as the boxes go.....I'm wondering /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif should I wax the parts first(after washing of course), Or just package well. Will it make a difference ??? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

I'd put a light coat of wax on them and put some oil on the bare metal areas like the filles bung, etc. If you're into guns and have some Cosmoline is even better.
