Tape on too long?

Here in the Kansas City area, we had a tremendous ice storm which knocked out the power at my place for 6 days. The day before the storm I layed the fine-line tape for flames on my tank. Was going to squirt paint the next day, but Mother Nature decided otherwise. (Tank had been cleared and lightly sanded prior to taping.) Obviously, I was unable to do anything with the tank until now. Will I experience any problem with the tape being on so long? Any residue problems, etc.? I pulled a few inches of it loose, and it seemed OK. I'd hate to have to do it all over again, but I will if needed. It never froze, only about 40 degrees in the shop. Used 3M tape on PPG clear.

Thanks

Sounds like you'll be all right. Although I've never had a problem with 40 degree tempatures (brrrrrrrr).
Sometimes when you leave fineline and the tape on for a day or two, you will notice it "pulls" around the "ovals". You should use a nice clean lint free rag, then wet it down with cleaner or a wax and grease remover and remove any residue the tape leaves if in fact it does pull away from the original position. This will clean the glue up, thus leaving you a nice clean edge on the oval.

Great! (insert sound track of a sigh of relief) Thanks for the info.

Re the cold temps, here is the address for
my home page which has a picture of the
ice storm, as well as a few of the bike and
my family. Maybe someday I'll ride the scoot
to FL and enjoy the nice weather.
