Going to try my first "ripped metal" design and was wondering what the xperts here do. Draw out design on tank and tape or draw on frisket paper and cut on tank??Do the curled edge in the first stage or after the first(bottom) design in painted?Hope this makes sense.Been doing flames for years but want to move on to the more difficult stuff.also going to try some 3D effects like this one. Oops, thought i knew how to attach a image but I guess not.

Osh have you ever seen Craig Frazers cheap tricks & special fx he does one on a tank using one of his templates & mostly free hand after he gets outline of image using a candy ( Oranic green over shimirin green bc ) then paints the negative space pretty cool effect /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yay.gif

Osh, I've been practicing some torn metal effects. There is definetly some skill to be learned here. I've been using auto mask, because it's cheaper than tape for big area's. I'm just working with some very basic designs and hoping for inspiration.

Good Luck
