Would you guys mind posting pics of your painting stands. I need some better ideas. That is if you don't mind me copying your ideas. Harley bag lids are the worst. I can't figure out a way to hold them firm when I am polishing. Please help.:sillyme:

get a door mat.the type with a rubber back.put it upside down on your bench.works good for routing too.get the old woman to hold it for you to do the edge.cyas

The ole' lady doesn't like me or what I do, so she is no help at all. If I can't con a friend to come over and help, I'm goin' at it solo. I polish the bag lids on my lap.
Can a new guy here post pics, or is there a post count that must be met first. I have a good set up for side covers, if I can I'll post up a pic.

yes you can.it's good to see what other guys are up to . another thought i had was to put the lid on the bag to polish it but then you might have trouble getting around the clips and latches.just a thought.i usually get someone to hold it for me .cyas:think1:

just watch out for your shirt and the buffer when you're trying to hold the parts while buffing. i've had my buffer catch my shirt a time or two. he he. the buffer still works though, smoked a few times, but still works

Here are my side cover stands. They hold tight, and I can screw them to my table for polishing. Plus my fender stands. I need to trim the tires so I can get more paint on the underside.
By the way, I found an old post on stands, put all the pics are gone. Where can I find those pics?
