Hi, I was wondering if anyone in this group has used the Tip Top Finishes clear coat. If you have, how does it compare to PPG global or HOK.

Thanks

Haven't heard of it but I'm sure it's like all the aftermarket/top name stuff, you get what you pay for. Some aftermarket stuff lasts great and others go to crap in a matter of no time. The brand names will last long if applied correctly along with some aftermarket clears,if it's thickness you need for multiple layering HOK is about the only thing left designed for this type of abuse.Their prices really aren't bad either compared to the top automotive systems.Need a pretty blue at almost $90 a pint from the major companies?Just kidding but the price is true, welcome to Scott's place.Actually if you're just playing around the bargain stuff is cool, just don't use untested stuff for a paying job because it very well could come back to bite you in the ass.

I'm thinking that Tip Top brand is something Coast Airbrush is selling. Suppose to be some awesome clear designed for custom applications. No idea on the prices though and the quality of the product. They do talk highly about it and I don't think they would put out crap to hurt their rep in the custom painting market. I just go with HoK clear, 'cause I know it's designed for thick applications and I'm fairly familiar with it.

Oh yeah Tip Top is a European clear if that's of any importance.
