Too late to apply clear coat?

Hey all I'm new to the forum and have a quick question, I applied two coats of base and it's been sitting for 24 hours and I have to wet sand to get the imperfections out. do I have to apply another basecoat after wet sanding before I put on the clear? Or can I just wet sand, clean the part then apply the clear? Thanks for your help.

if its a metallic, yer gonna want to shoot more bc as youll be sanding on the lil plastic chips that make the metallic. if its solid, i personally would shoot another coat or 2 of bc, then clear.
