There are several "How-To" books and videos on the subject. When I started, I used Jon Kosmoski's book, "Kustom Painting Secrets". And also a couple of his videos. It helped me out by seeing someone actually doing a paint job.
Since your question seems to be aimed at a "one way" or "best way" angle, I have to tell you that painting vehicles is alot like making love to your wife. Most guys can do it; most guys use similar, but varied techniques; but in the end there are many differences in guys actual performance; And, (this just in...) some guys are very good, and some... well, lets just say that some guys should hire it done. So understand that there are thousands of techniques and styles and preferences when it come to making love...er, I mean painting. Sorry, my mind drifted a bit there. The basics are in those books, and on this forum. And you can ask questions here, so long as you know you might get several different answers to the same question. My advice is to get a book, read it until you fully understand the steps to a basic paintjob, and then start practicing on a test panel until you're comfortable with your gun and compressor set up. Then, let her rip. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/luck.gif
