Too much time between coats

I've got a full size pick-up to do a flame job on, silver base, gold base in the flames with black air brush on edge of flame, and candy over the whole thing. Problem is I will not have enough time to do it all in the "coat" time and I sure do'nt want to re-sand the whole truck.
Any help will be greatly accepted with a great big THANK YOU

Unfortunately you're screwed (at least I think you are with HOK).What you can do is blow a coat of SG100 over it and then wet scuff it with a grey scuffpad, much quicker than sanding but you may want to nip out any dirtnibs with 1500.Ideally you should do this over the first metallic sprayed to avoid tape tracks in it.Then after untaping your flames you can go straight to candy.

Rex is right on -- HOK would be some pretty time-intensive stuff if it weren't for SG-100! PPG seems to have a much more open "window"....

Having said that, the SG-100 is awesome. I sprayed some black base two days ago and finished it off with two coats of SG-100 -- today, I scuffed it with a 3M scuffpad, did my tapeouts and put multiple coats of Kandy/clear on it.
