hey guys been reading posts as much as possible with no definite answer.

My question is what type of primer am i going to need and base paint? Do i need a urethane base paint and urethane primer? and what about the clear. I bought an extra bumper that i would like to paint with a stock bright red paint its painted maroon right now. also would i need to sand the paint down to bare urethane and then add primer what process would you guys take to achieve best results? Thanks you in advanced for the much needed info.

Also could i use paint provided by 'paint scratch' without using additives to it since it says its ready to be sprayed on?

You can use any paint you would like. I would suggest just buying a pint from a local paint supplier.
You'll still need to buy the clearcoat, hardener and reducer though.

You can sand the current paint job on the bumper if it's in good condition. Then you can apply the new paint over that.

Thanks taz, i will go about buying the paint through a local place. How would you go about prepping the bumber? should i sand the paint down and apply a primer of some sort? If so what type would be the best option?

That's really tough to say without seeing it.
If it's in decent condition, I would just sand it with 180, then 320. Then I would use sealer over the bumper (in the booth). Then paint it base, then clear.

if it's rough, take care of all the bad spots, prime them, then 180, 320 and paint
