Using chrome mylar under clear ??????

Does anyone know anything about the possibilties of using chrome mylar (or something similar) under clearcoat?

I know at some point they used chrome and gold on motocross helmets, but dont know anything about it.

Has anyone used this ? or have any information on it?

...would make a nice chrome flame job on my Harley!
