I have a 2010 Harley that needs a lower frame touch up. The area would be difficult if not impossible to spray and most OEM and other brush on touch up paint (laquer) has not held up. The area that needs paint is a weld between the frame tube and cross member and was damaged when the dealer jacked the bike up to change a tire utilizing more of the cross member then the frame tube. This caused a 1/8" wide by 5" long crack in the paint on the weld after removing all the loose original paint or powder coat. Since this is on a weld, the paint can be brushed on without being noticed that much provided it dries glossy. I bought a rattle can of VHT epoxy paint that someone told me was the best to correct this permanently. No black I seem to buy matches the Harley frame black, perfectly as its a true or vivid black, but this is close. The problem is that I cannot spray the area. It is an odd angle and it would also be extemely difficult to mask and spray without making a huge mess. I'd like to spray the paint into a paint cup and apply by artist brush. I don't care if I waste product as long as the end result is achieved but nobody seems to be able to tell me If I can succed applying the aerosol epoxy paint with a brush in this small area sucessfully. I don't know much about epoxy paints. Any advice either way would be appreciated. Would really appreciate hearing from those that actually know the answer as opposed to speculation though. Thanks Folks!
