hey, i have a 60 gal, 7hp campbell hausfeld compressor, that i use for all my air tools, and my paint guns. i have a small CH water filter right out of the compressor, and a 50ft hose. now, i get lots of water in my lines that like to run through my tools. what can i do about this without buying a really expensive filter unit. thanks for any advice

YOU'VE GOT TO MOVE TO TRAP/FILTER DOWN YOUR LINE, THE MOISTURE WON'T CONDENCE IN THE TRAP RIGHT OFF THE TANK, IF YOU CAN GET AHOLD OF 10-15 FEET OF HOSE TO SEPERATE THE FILTER FROM THE COMPRESSOR I'M SURE YOU'LL HAVE GREAT RESULTS

What do you consider expensive? They make those $80 tolet paper type filters that work really well. I also like to keep 2 hoses one for my paint and one for the air tools.

PERSONALLY I FOUND NOT NEEDING TWO 1 FOR TOOLS AND 1 FOR PAINT IF YOU HAVE A SINGLE STAGE GET THE GLASS OR PLASTIC WATER FILTER/TRAP AND THAT MAY DO IT IF A TWO STAGE FILTER/TRAP AND OIL SEPERATOR GO TO SEARS AND YOU MAY GET ONE FOR AS LITTLE AS $50.00

cool, that sounds pretty easy. i was looking at the sata filters, but they range around 300 bucks. i have 3, 50ft hoses, i could run one to a place of my choice, put the filter in, then a line splitter, and run my 2 lines off. i will have to give that a shot. thanks for the advice guys.

I put an extra trap at the handle of all of my guns just in case. They are about $15 and its worth it to not have to strip off $150 in paint.

i redid my setup this morning, i ran a 50ft hose off of the compressor and ran it through a 2X4 and bungee corded it there. then i put my small water trap on the end, a coupler, and plugged in my other hose. i havent had any water come through the second hose and i used the compressor all day today. thanks for the advice. i appreciate it a lot.

Forget the hose.To totally eliminate water in the line all you need to do is run a piece of metal pipe along the wall sloped back towards the compressor and attach your hose to the opposite end of it coming off the top.The water will condense inside the cool metal pipe and drain back towards the tank.If it works in South Texas in the summer it will work anywhere.

There's another way that I prefer.I slope it severely away from the tank and make my drops go to the ceiling first and if you don't like draining water put an automatic drain on the end. That way the compessor isn't pumping new and drained back water. The little bit that makes it up thru the drops is minimal and coust by the trap at your hose hookup.Steel pipe is best for condensing water but I've had good luck with PVC too.If you use all PVC it's best to have a piece of flex hose between the compressor and mounted PVC to relieve the pressure from vibrations, man when that stuff blows you better have a good heart. The parallel system is great but you really need a good refrigerated dryer system.

well, pipe and fittings are cheap, and then i would have use of my hoses again. thanks for the help guys. im gonna run the metal pipe into my small water seperator, and then have the hose come off of that.
