wax, silicone and grease remover??

Someone once told me that Bar-b-q lighter fluid works good for removing wax,silicone and grease when getting ready to do some paintin on a bike or car..Any comments please and advise,,thanks!!

That's one I haven't heard. The way I see it, the automotive paint specific cleaner/preps aren't so expensive as to take a gamble on a ruined paint job by useing something else.
