Wet sanding clear coat

When you wet sand the clear coat, will a rubber sanding block with the 2000 grit work or do you use your hand or a power sander?

What do you use the 3M black squegee to check for? How does this show smoothness?

thanks:

Dakota,
I wouldn't try using an electric sander to wet sand, you might ZAP yourself pretty good. Do it by hand. Depending on the "paint edge" you have you might want to start with 1000# paper and then work up to 1500# then 2000#. Just be extra careful not to sand to far or else you'll end up ruining the base-coat. Rubber blocks are ok for sanding out flat areas like car panels, but on a bike tank I personaly wouldn't use them. Once you've color sanded out a few times you'll get used to the "feel" in your hand. For the first few times try sanding down enough so there isn't any "gloss" or shine left -- especialy around those nasty paint edges.
Peace & Good Luck!!! --- Bones!~
