I have decided to paint my Road King Black! Want to apply ghost flames that do not "stand out." Rather ones that can be seen from different angles. What woud be the correct "how to?" Any suggestions in addition to the how to section of this site?

Also, have a custom radical chopper that will be black due to the red powder coated engine and trans. Ghost flames on this one also. Any suggestions on color to use?

Hey PvtDet,
I just shot my roadking Black Sparkle Pearl and flamed it with HOK Kameleon Pearl Flake Red to green. It is subtle, but it looks different at different angles. I am getting ready to shoot the final clear coats and buff it out. It looks completely outstanding so far. You might try this idea out. Also, they make Green to gold, Blue to green, and Sapphire (I think this changes from light blue to deep blue) in the Kameleon Pearl. Check them out. Good luck.
On the chop, I personally would go with something that is "in your face". Even slow choppers should grab peoples attentions... Just my opinion. Take it easy.

Thanks, but isn't that Kameleon paint "very" expensive ($200/pint)? I like the idea of the black sparkle pearl. Was that on the whole bike or just under the flames?

candy black cherry. ooks awesome.
I personally like to do black base silver flames or graffix and shoot the black cherry over the whole thing.

I shot HOK all the way. I shot primer, sealer, and PBC100 (Black Sparkle Pearl), & SG100 (Intercoat clear) on everything, then scuffed everything (wet maroon pad very lightly). After that I taped out all my flames and shot the Kameleon Pearl.
The cost of the KPF isn't too bad. I bought it in a 1/4 oz. size. It was $49. I still have enough of the stuff left over to do a car! It only took 3/4 teaspoon to do all my flames. The trick is to find it for sale in smaller quantities. I can't post where I bought it on here. But you can email me.

Oops, I forgot to tell you that there is a big difference between the Kameleon paint and the Kameleon Pearl Flake. The paint is mixed, reduced and shot normally, but the Pearl flake is in a powder form and must be mixed in something, (preferrably SG-100 intercoat clear) then shot. The paint flip flops but the flake really changes! It's amazing how much change there is in the flake. I have a picture of the red to green but I don't know how to attach it. Email me and I'll reply with the picture attached.
