What do I use to strip a plastic component

I havea plastic sadle bag lid on my Harley that painted black with candy apple rd flames, at one point I used unactivated clear coat. I want to strip it and start over again, but I am afraid to use a da sander as I do not wish to damage the plastic component. Is it safe to use a paint stripper? If so, any recommendation on what brand.
Thank You,

I WOULD SAND OFF THE CLEAR WITH THE DA THEN BLOCK AND HAND SAND THE REST.
PAINT STRIPPER WILL BE MESSY AND POSSIBLY BITE INTO THE PLASTIC.
IF THERE IS NOT TOO MUCH PAINT ON THE SADDLEBAG TO BEGIN WITH THIS WILL NOT TAKE LONG
WAS THE CLEAR SUPPOSED TO BE ACTIVATED IN THE FIRST PLACE?IF SO THINNERS MAY TAKE IT OFF.
REMEMBER TO USE SUITABLE PRIMER FOR PLASTICS.
AND IF YOU ARE NOT EXPERIENCED MAYBE A TRAINED SPRAYPAINTER WILL BE BETTER AT MATCHING THE CANDY EFFECT TO THE REST OF THE BIKE.
THIS IS BECAUSE CANDYS ARE NOT TRUE COLORS THEY ARE MORE LIKE LOOKING AT A BASE COLOR WITH COLORED SUNGLASSES ON.
THE MORE OR LESS CANDY APPLIED THE DIFFERENT THE COLOR CAN BE.

Exactly. The only thing I can add to that is that there are stippers for plastics, fiberglass and urethane bumpers.Plastics are iffy because of the many varieties.I'd guess the lids are ABS,but I really don't know.Shaunboy's advice is what I'd go by.
