Hello,
That's normal for clearcoat, but there are accelerators you can use. Or you can use a faster drying clear. I've heard of clears drying in a 1/2 hour or so.
I'm not too fond of them since I feel that clearcoat should take some time to dry. The faster the clear dries that more it's prone to cracking (IMO)>
Also it will be more likely to solvent pop on you and possibly other problems

Yea u have heard of the accelarators
But didn't want to use them for the same reasons u mentioned . I used the sherwin Williams finish 1 .
They have some clear that air dries in 45 minutes but the kit costs 400 .
Do you guys know if maybe using a hair dryer or heat gun to heat it up might do the trick?

wow, didn't realize that the SW clear kit was that much. Check with a local jobber and see if they have a universal accelerator. I think the HOK # is AX-01. I wouldn't suggest using a hair dryer, it will take awhile to dry it.

i'm with taz on this. i would prefer to get some patience then to mess with faster drying clears. it seems that using a hair dryer or heat gun would be a great way to screw up paint.

I use Matrix ms 30, Clear for door jambs. It is a fast dry product. 30 min. A kit of a gallon and quart of activator is under 100 bucks. I prefer it to Nason spot clear. Bill
