Ive read the P sheet on HOK epoxy primer and it says not to put it over anything but bare plastic or metal. So what ok to put over a old base? Im using HOK.

If you want to stick with HOK,use thier Ko-seal but,I would think any quality brand of primer/sealer would work as well.

I used the HOK KOseal2 but it didnt hide very well. I could see my sand through spots after about three good coats.

Well,Maybe EZ or someone who uses HOK alot can give some advice.Although they don't reccomend it,alot of paint brands can be mixed for personal preference but,it's always better to get advice from someone who's done it.

Don't take this as gospel because it isn't but I believe HOK says that because they want you to start from steel to even come close to warranty their products.Their epoxy should stick fine to cured finishes (as stated) but it's another thickness to their stuff. The way I see it they don't really warrantee their custom finishes so it's up to you,I just prefer to keep it as thin as possible if my name is on a guarrantee. All their stuff from the start isn't a big deal, but mix them and others and you're on your own in their eyes (and the rest of the manufacturers).
