Is there a urethane reducer for the clear coat, or something else? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif

Yes and no,it depends on the clear. If it calls for a reducer in the mix ratio use the maker's reducer, the generics or other's products can cause probs. Some of the lower lines of clear or DuPont (I think still does) doesn't use a reducer and the reducer is is kind of part of the catalyst.Does that make sense and help?

ya, thanks. I think ,but i'll read, that it doesn't need a reducer. I was just wondering b/c i was getting just a little orange peal. I was just thinking that i would reduce it a little.

If you're using the normal stuff for refinishing cars,it's normal to get a slight peel no matter what you do or use for a gun,it's kind of designed that way to match the factory's appearance.Curved areas like a scooter's gas tank will usually lay out slick but the flat surfaces will show a slight peel. The slower 'overall' clears laynice but the dry time really sucks for smaller jobs.Check with the manufacturer of the clear, usually there is an option to use a small percentage or reducer to help flow but not always. If there is ask what reducer they recommend that could be used if they don't make one and exactly how much you can use.
