Is there a diffrence between laquer thinner and paintgun cleaner????

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah man, I can't give you a scientific difference, but I've use both products.
Thinner or Solvent I use daily for normal gun clean up after spraying. It does the job and I let some of the spray parts soak for while to make sure all is cleaned.
I bought that spray gun cleaner a few years ago and it stinks like a dead cat (at least the brand I used). It does clean, but more of a hassle then using solvent/thinner.
I have found a good use for spray gun cleaner though. When I have a cup that some primer dried on, it usually cleans the metal cup up after letting it soak for awhile.

Real gun cleaner is a milder form of stripper which is thick and will eat up any seals that aren't metal.There are I think very low grades of thinner marked as gun cleaner or something like that but I don't recall exactly.Usually you can get a 5 gal pail of 'wash' thinner for $25.

I get 5 gal of thinner from a nation wide company called Keystone, they sell a lot of auto pannel, mirrors, hoods etc. but not paint. Their price for 5 gal is 15.25, last month I was out of town on a paint project for a city to do a garbage truck and needed some laquor thinner, and the only place that had any was a Sherwin Williams store...same can...same product...$45.00 . Just shows to go ya...some stores make a lot more profit than others /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beat.gif

Well they wanted my whole life history, just to purchase painting supplies from them. I bought the MEK for $45, promised to return the application and my tax ID. Then found a different place to get my supplies.
