Ok my soon to be brother in law works at Lowes and he told my Girl that he was going to get me another paint gun. I know that they sell 2 different guns in gravity feed. One is a HVLP and the other is a standard gravity gun. They are both Porter Cable units. I will not use them that must I love the guns that I have all ready but I dont know if I would see a difference between the 2 in quality of spray I knwo that the HVLP is like 100 and the gravity is just 50 so should I save him money and have tell her for him to get me the standard . Or will the HVLP be worth the extra $$$$.

If you like the guns you already have, tell him to get you a case of beer. It'll go good with either lacquers or urethanes, and if you drink enough of 'em you wont care if there is a run or two to sand out!

I was mainly going to use it as a back up or for doing small jobs. And he is set on getting me one of the guns there I think mainly to see how they do that way he can use me as a testimonial when he is working

I'd go with the HVLP then. Lot less overspray and therefore saves on paint. To me the HVLP's are just easier to use, but I'm not an oldtimer (at least in the painting dept.) so I never got used to the high pressure guns.
