White Edge on flames

I was just wondering about the occasional white edge I've been getting on the edges of my flames. I have tried to be consistent with checking the edges of the tape to make sure it's down tight, but I still am getting areas that have white. I use the white/tinted base for the first pass and then as I do my fades with the other colors, it seems to show up. Mostly on purple tips and the next color of red. I am thinking it's the blue 3m fineline, maybe. I'm switching to Proband orange masking tape. If anyone has any ideas, it would keep me from doing the repaint thing so much!!! Thanks, JB?Montana.

Thinner tape will minimize it but as long as you base everything white and fill in over it it'll still show. You either need to do the colors as you want with an airbrush or stripe the edge.Another time consuming option is untape it and retape it a BCH wider but that's not fun at all.
