why is it reacting?

i'm getting a reaction like when clear coat is applyed not let cure, then clearcoat is applied again in a couple hrs. everything is ok till you let it dry, and sand it flat for a last layer of clear. then the scally reaction happens.

here's what i applied. gold base w/ a black fade, then i taped out flames and did graphix around it. i then applied sg100 w/ cobalt blue kk mixed in 5:1 then a 50% med. reducer. then clearcoat. i waited till the next day (20 hrs later) scuffed it w/ 1000 grit and did my pinstiping then recleared, and....... @@$%$%^@@#$%@^#^%@%!#%$ it started reacting??????? i have no idea! i have no problems unless i use the cobalt blue. what's going on???? i've been using half med. and half fast reducer for my clear uc35. could that be a problem? i'm so ****ed and just don't know what's going on?

i thought i might be adding too much sg 100, so i actually measured my mixture this time, and it still happened. could it be bad Kandi Koncentrate?

Dirk,
You did mention this, but did you have KU150 to the clear? You probably did, but I didn't see it mention.

If you did that, the only thing I can think of is you have alot of material under the clear that is 'basecoat' like the SG100 with the KK and the metallic and the graphics.
Normally when we do alot of basecoat below a clearcoat, we add a base hardener.
Don't know if this is the problem...but it's the only thing I can think of that went wrong on you.

Maybe you can attach a pic and I'll (we) will take a look.

i've already got my base on again. i didn't add 150 to the uc35, never done that before. i'm going to try to add some hardner to the sg100, how long do i wait before i clear and can i add base on top of the hardner /w the sg100 and do ok?

Dirk,
I would say not having hardener in the clear would be the problem. Surprised it didn't wrinkle when you added more base.
You can add the basecoat hardener to your SG-100 to your base, but I don't think this was the problem. This just 'kicks' the base. You can add clear or another base color over it after about 5-10 minutes (if the base is thick. The thicker the basecoat, the longer I would give it before adding another color or clear over it.

ya, that has to be it, cause the second time i painted it i used the minimum amount of base to cover, so it was really thin. i just need to add hardner to the sg100.

thanx for the help scott!
