windshield removal?

Just wondering if there is an easy way to remove a windshield without cracking it? or having a professional come remove it. It was replaced about 6 months ago due to a crack that was in line of sight, and the fact that I sometimes go to one of the local dragstrips, and have fun. They kinda frown on racing with a cracked windshield. Had it replaced even tho I kinda knew that I'd be doing the bodywork and paint this summer.

Probably the easiest and hassle free way would be to call a local glass company out. I had my 77 Trans Am glass removed and then reinstalled (once I was done with the paint), for about $100.

There is also a special took to cut into the caulking, but if you don't want to buy it, you can use welding wire. This is a two person project though!
