Hmmm, I've never done one...but I would imagine the colors used would be directly related on what type wood effect you are trying to achieve.
If you are looking for just a 'wood' look, maybe you can start off with a black base with silver marble, and apply a mix of candy red and candy pagan gold. This would give you a darker wood.
OR, apply a silver or copper base with black airbrushed wood grain, and then coat with the same candy mix as above.

If you are just looking for a simple wood, just mix up the brown of your choice. Then take some a coarse sponge and spray some black on it and smear it over the brown. Airbrush some knots in it.
Just some ideas for you!

The best and easiest way is to paint the area to be wood grained black basecoat first. Let it dry, then apply one coat (wet) of HOK silver white marbillizer over the black, and wait 30 to 60 seconds before adding texture with a stiff paint brush. Work the grain pattern with the brush and add knotholes with your fingers. After you get the grain pattern you want , let it dry and add candy root beer to get the color of wood. ( you can also add brandywine for a cherry wood look.) Put a coat of SG 100 over the wood to make the clear stick, then clearcoat with HOK clear and you are done!

MARBLE KEVINJAHN22.jpgI'm a bit new to the game but I'm shocked at what people consider marble. It would be impossible to explain my technique but I am open to all working scenerios. Good luck

save your money with marblizer.. Charcol and Silver bases all you need topped with Rootbeer Candy. Even use gold base lil charcol aka gun metal As per darker or lighter vice versa on the layers. Start with silver or gold, let it flash. Apply heavy WET top coat, would not recommend doing large area at one time. Streak and knot with scrunched up plastic, newspaper, suran wrap... flash, you can wet sand it, it will be grainy! Top with rootbeer kandy /clear and whalla... buff to perfection
